Super Junior [(슈퍼주니어) , SJ, or SUJU (슈주)]

Introduction
Super Junior [(슈퍼주니어) , SJ, or SUJU (슈주)] is a multi-talented boy group from South Korea. They are one of the largest boy bands in the world. Super Junior is one of the top bands of K-POP. Through their performances, reality shows, interviews, dramas, plays, they are known for captivating fans with their catchy songs, dance moves, synchronized performances, powerful stage presence and the energy and charisma of each and every single member. Super Junior’s fame continues to spread across the world and has captivated the hearts of millions. The band has had many tours through China, Japan, Singapore, and Taiwan, and even headlined SMTOWN concerts in LA and Paris. Since the SMTOWN concerts in LA and Paris, many fans across the world have voiced out and requested for Super Junior concerts in their own hometowns. Through the efforts of fans from across the world indicate that the status of Super Junior is indeed at the level of international sensation.

Summary
Super Junior debuted on November 6^th, 2005. The group is under SM Entertainment. There are a total of 13 members in Super Junior. The group consists of Leeteuk (leader), Heechul, Hangeng , Yesung, Kangin, Shindong, Sungmin, Eunhyuk, Donghae, Siwon, Ryeowook, Kibum, and Kyuhyun. The band debuted as a singing group, but are now also entertainers in each of their own respective fields like singing, acting, MCing, modeling, music composing, etc.  Over the years Super Junior has been divided into smaller sub-groups. The sub-groups are Super Junior M, Super Junior K.R.Y, Super Junior T, and Super Junior Happy. Each of these smaller sub-groups target different musical industries and audiences. Ever since the release of their first album, “Super Junior 05” they continue to receive love and recognition from people all around the world. To this day, Super Junior continues to produce hit songs such as Twins, Don’t Don, Sorry Sorry, It’s You, Bonamana, Mr.Simple, and A-Cha. They have received many awards and recognition for their work and will continue to receive more.

Sub-groups

Super Junior K.R.Y
Super Junior K.R.Y was the first sub-group of Super Junior. There are 3 members in Super Junior K.R.Y; Kyuhyun, Ryeowook, Yesung. This group consists of the most vocally powerful members of Super Junior. Super Junior K.R.Y’s music falls into the category of R&B style ballads. Although Super Junior K.R.Y has not officially released an original singles or albums, they have held a mini concert tours in Japan. Over 22,000 attended the tour.

Super Junior T
     Super Junior T was the second sub-group of Super Junior. They are the first idol group known for producing trot music, which is the oldest form of Korean pop music. They debuted in 2006 with 6 members; Leeteuk, Heechul, Kangin, Shindong, Sungmin, and Eunhyuk. They have only released one single, “rokuko” but this single received a lot of recognition. “Rokuko” was korea’s sixteenth best-selling record and was the number one best-selling single of 2007.

Super Junior M
Super Junior M was the third sub-group of Super Junior. They are the first international music group (in the Chinese music industry) to have members of Chinese and Korean descent. The debuted in 2008 with 5 members: Siwon, Donghae, Kyuhyun, Ryeowook, Hangeng, Henry, & Zhou Mi. As of 2010, 2 new members were added to the group, Eunhyuk and Sungmin officially making them an 8 member group.  Super Junior M’s music falls into the category of mainstream pop, dance, and R&B. Super Junior M has received many awards and recognition for their songs like Me, Super Girl, and Perfection and will continue to receive many more in the future.

Super Junior Happy
Super Junior Happy was the fourth sub-group of Super Junior. They debuted in 2008 with 6 members; Leeteuk, Yesung, Kangin, Shindong, Sungmin and Eunhyuk. Super Junior Happy’s music falls into the category of contemporary dance music and bubblegum pop.
